Meet Dr. Kristin Richards – Founder of WealthSHE

Dr. Kristin Vance Richards, Ph.D., LCSW, is a licensed therapist, financial therapist, financial coach, Forbes contributor, and founder of wealthSHE. She founded wealthSHE to help women reduce money stress, understand the emotional patterns behind their financial decisions, and build practical strategies for debt payoff, savings, stability, and long-term wealth.

With a Ph.D., clinical licensure, financial therapy expertise, a certificate in financial planning, and years of experience teaching, researching, writing, and mentoring women through major life transitions, Dr. Richards brings both professional depth and lived experience to this work. Her background includes serving as a Research Fellow with the National Endowment for Financial Education, teaching financial planning and financial wellness for nearly a decade, and co-founding the Financial Therapy Center at Florida State University. But wealthSHE is not only professional for her. It is personal.

After divorce and single motherhood, Kristin rebuilt her own financial life step by step, eventually building a seven-figure net worth through strategy, discipline, and steady decisions over time. She knows what it means to carry the weight of children, work, bills, fear, ambition, and responsibility — and to build anyway. Her role is not to shame you, lecture you, or make money feel more complicated than it already does. Her role is to help you slow down, see clearly, and begin taking steady steps toward the life you want.

wealthSHE was created for women who are tired of feeling behind, ashamed, or alone with money. It is for women who want clarity without judgment, strategy without shame, and support from someone who understands both the numbers and the nervous system.

Not rescued. Built.
